Winsome Lady : A Brief History
This Hillyard was built as Marique, renamed Seawing by 1947, and then aquired the name Winsome Lady in 1963, when a new Hillyard called Seawing was built for Captain Colin Butler who carried the name across to his new boat.
Winsome Lady is recorded as “Sold to USA” in 1978 Lloyd's register. She reappears in Portsmouth, England, in 2004. The Hillyard Owners' Association website has a collection of eight photographs of her being restored, c2010, one of which is reproduced above.
