Tamaroa Under New Ownership
As the UK's 2014 winter set in, Australia's summer kicked off and Tamaroa came onto the market. Here is what the broker handelling the sale has to say about her:
"This has to be one of Sydney's prettiest yachts. Owned and loved by a professional timber boat-builder, she is Kaufman built in 1973 and Harrison Butler designed. Her hull is beech planking on spotted gum frames and during a hull refit was double-diagonal cold-moulded and dynel sheathed making her watertight, super-strong and low maintainance. And that's not all, she has a new BETA diesel 14 hp with 50 hours clocked. Lovely interior with galley and stove, twin berths, furling headsail, lazy jacks, large solar panel."
Harrison Butler purists may frown at the much modified Vertue style coachroof. However, as I seriously considered buying a Vertue before settling on Tramontana, I like it !
It sometimes takes a while for news to filter through from 'down under', but I've been told (July 2017) that Tamaroa sold in July 2015.
