Ghosting in from the past
Adolfo Ceño has sent in the above recent photograph of Svalen* and so is awarded a pink star for an update on a Harrison Butler designed boat that the Association had not heard about for many years. We're trying to find out a little more detail about her recent history, and in particular how she came to be a spanish boat. What I can tell from searching the Lloyd's Registers is that she was originally called Memory until about 1948, then Helen Jane until 1954, then Svalen *.
Incidentaly, either an error or a correction is introduced into the Lloyd's registers from 1965 onwards when her year of Svalen's* build is changed from 1939 to 1941.
This following lovely photograph of Svalen* was handed on to me when I took over the website in 2013.
