Strider

Strider : Located in New Zealand, December 2019
Strider is an Alan Buchanan Saxon class yacht that has made it all the way to New Zealand where she's currently (December 2019) up for sale on the TradeMe website. Typically, I came across her whilst looking for something else, and simply identifying her name involved a careful study of the photographs being used to advertise her. One had her name just about visible on the bow.

The name rather deepened the mystery, as I'd not heard of this boat before. Was she a renamed known boat ? I wondered if she was one of the three Saxon Class boats built by Priors in 1960. Of these, Ælfwyn (ex ADA) was registered in Australia for a while but more recently was reported back in the UK. Roma of Rhu was in Stornoway, Scotland, in 2017. Which leaves Aurian as my top suspect !
