Sarona : Artists Boat
Sarona's
owners, Bryan Luxford & Kathryn Boston, are artists who enjoy sailing their boat when the weather is warm and the winds fair.
In researching the history of this boat I discovered that it was AC Richardson, her first owner, who renamed Sakura as Sarona in 1972, as he placed the order to purchasing a newly built 13 ton Hillyard, which he then named Sakura. Curiously, Sarona is recorded as being “Sold to USA” in 1976.
Broken Up December 2017
News from Southdown Marina on the Cornish side of the River Tamar is that Sarona has been sold to be broken up.
