| | Phryne Of Burnham : Enthusiastically Raced
Phryne of Burnham is a historically interesting yacht for two reasons. Firstly, she's one of the first to be moulded in GRP by Tylers. Secondly, she's a copy of Buchanan's acclaimed Vashti design, several of which had been previously built out of wood. Around half a dozen or so of these Queen Class GRP boats were built.
Amanda Hutchinson, who owned Phryne with her husband Commander Jeremy Hutchinson has been in touch; “We bought her through Berthon's from the Earl of St Aubyn in 2005. In a brief ownership he had her extensively refitted at huge cost but never sailed her. The grab handles down to the saloon were made from keel bolts from HMS Victory”.
Phryne Of Burnham was tidied up in August 2013 at the Berthon Boat Company. Now owned by Ian Kennedy, she's been enthusiastically raced over the summer of 2017; for example, in The Classic Channel Regatta is which she was placed =8th overall
