Petmar : French Restoration
The photograph above shows Petmar when she was purchased by Abigail Makiello in 2009. It took Abigail two years to rescue what was bordering on being a wreck with so much rot in the stern that had she poked hard she'd have made a hole below the waterline through a crumbling plank. There's a useful account of resolving Petmar's 'Rudder Tube Rot' (an issue that bedevils many Hillyard boats) in the Hillyarder from November 2010.
Hillyard expert Doug Coulson reports that the Bernard & Olwen Penfolds, now both deceased, owned Petmar for over forty years.
