Patsy Rye : An Immaculate Restoration
In 2008 Faversham Creek Chandler, Nigel Davidson, set out to circumnavigate the UK in the 4 ton Hillyard, Patsy Rye. He had spent the previous three years planning what, for such a small boat, would be a major voyage, changing the rigg from Bermudan to Gaff, which he felt would be easier to use single-handed, and reworking the interior which was, “original, but astonishingly impractical”. Of her history he said, “Originally named Patsy, she was one of two boats specially commissioned by the British Army Yacht Club of Alexandria in Egypt. She is teak on oak, to resist the heat, and consequently is fundamentally sound”.
I've yet to track down the story of the circumnavigation, but do know that Nigel sold Patsy Rye in 2014.
