Mintaka : Steel Buchanan For Sale in Malysia
Mintaka is currently for sale in Malaysia for £34,500 and listed as being built in 1979. However, The Sydney Morning Herald of 3rd November 1984 contains the following advert on page 62;
   “Mintaka. Alan Buchanan designed 36ft Steel Ketch, built in Duneden (United Arab Emirates) in 1966. Heavily constructed for ocean crusing. 4 cylinder Perkins diesel. Large cruising sail wardrobe. Hasler self steering gear. A true classic cruising ketch. Contact Bob Holmes at d'Albora Lovett Marina, Rushcutter's Bay, Sydney”.
Mintaka is reputed to have twice sailed around Cape Horn. Intriguingly, there are old pictures of her with Launceston (Cornwall) as her home port.
