Lady Betty

Lady Betty : Verschrottest, c2014
This ghostly image is a sad farewell to Lady Betty which was broken up in 2014. At the time she was at a German construction site in Kappeln, Germany. The German Classic Yacht Club tried, unsuccessfully, to find someone to rescue her. Alas, they later posted a picture with the word Vverschrottest across it, german for scrapped. Originally called Lady Betty, renamed Lady Betty Too in 1939, Blue Seas in 1953, then reverting to her first name sometime after 1979. Designed by F Shepherd.

RIP Lady Betty
