Sale Of June Kicks Off 2016 Season
I am delighted to welcome Jan Fraser as a New Member of the HBA. Jan's just bought June from Derek Maclean. She moves into Jan's care sporting a smart paint job and, impressively, a brand new Yanmar engine. The mast needs some attention but, once that's sorted, June will be moved to Balvicar Bay, South of Oban.
June after her latest refurbishment, November 2015
In August 1953 this Z4 was sailed single handed from West Mersea to Inverness and back again. The skipper, Michael Corley, wrote up his adventure in The Royal Cruising Club Journal for that year. It's a well written, informative, and stylish account of an epic voyage along the UK's North Sea Coast in a small boat. The RCC Journal 1953 is occassionally offered for sale on Amazon, eBay or AbeBooks for around £35, or contact me for a photocopy.
In 1998 June again made boating news when Robert and Byrony Hebson sold her for just shy of £10,000. This was a record at the time for a Z4 although it reflected her great condidtion.
June has previously been called Here Now (1951-1964) and Tuskar (1965-1969).
