The Fifth Hong Kong Boat ?
Isis was unknown to the Association until I found her in my 1923 and 1927 Lloyd's Register of Yachts. She could be a fifth boat built in the same boat yard in the same year as the other four, or she could be one of the other four with a new name. Usually Lloyd's records previous names, but that rather relies on the new owner voluntarily supplying the information. The hope is that, as the established four are traced forward in time from 1910, and Isis back in time from 1927, the renaming possibility will be resolved one way or the other. To illustrate this page, I've used a postcard, c1980, that gives an illuminating perspective on Causeway Bay's relationship to the rapidly developing city behind.
