Show Boat
Galatea had a four year rebuild in the early 1980s by Steve Philips. Steve went on to cruise Galatea extensively, a highlight being a voyage to the Galapagos Islands in 1988. He also exhibited her annually for several years at the Victoria Classic Boat Festival. This is held on Labor Day each August at the south end of Vancouver Island. In recent years the Association has lost touch with this grand boat. The photograph above is from 1999 and the advertisement below (found October 2016) from 2005.
