Deedas : For Sale, January 2020
On a recent visit to North Wales, I called in at the Dinas Boat Yard, located on the shore of the beautiful Menai Strait. In the back corner of the large boat shed there I spotted Deedas. She looked smart, and I wondered if she was one of the Laurent Giles designed Vertues. In fact she's a 6 ton Falmouth Pilot, designed by Warington Smyth. Several of these boats are still around and other examples are easily found from an internet search. Although Deedas had clearly had a fair amount of restorative work done relatively recently, the yard told me that the owner was so behind on his storage fees that he'd asked them to sell her to recoup what was owed. Not yet advertised, I think there is a bargain to be had for an enthusiastic new owner, willing to do the few minor jobs necessary to get this tidy boat sailing again. If you'd like to rescue Deedas, contact Paul at the Ordovic Boat Brokerage on 07870481061.
