Corycia : Classic Design in GRP
John Paul has been in touch to say that he took on Corycia, which had been languishing on the hard in Conwy for six years or so. This immediately grabbed my attention, for my boat, Tramontana, has her home port in Conwy. Much to my amusement, the photograph he sent of Corycia has Tramontana's mast, far right in the picture !
Corycia is a fine example of Alan Buchanan's Halcyon 27 design, originally produced in the early days of GRP by W Stebbings & Sons Ltd as the Diamond design. As the Halycon 27, the design was mass produced by Offshore Yachts Ltd. Founded in 1966, a fire in 1975 killed Offshore Yachts Ltd and the factory at Mill Road never re-opened. Another Halcyon 27 on this website is Mako.
