Chloë : Broken up in 1998
Chloë was built to a design published as “A Tabloid Cruiser” in the January 1920 edition of Yachting Monthly. This design has since become known as the Chloë Design. In 1998 Chloë was broken up, a loss lamented by former HBA President Joan Jardine-Brown in the HBA Newsletter of Summer 1999.
In the Spring 1983 HBA Journal, mention is made of a sister ship built in Western Australia. Little is known about either Chloë or the sister build and so I remain on the lookout for photographs and further information. If you have either, please get in touch. I've identified a few previous owners via the Lloyd's Registers and archived HBA Journals.
