Capella : A New Lease Of Life
Capella has an enthusiastic new owner, Roger Bailey, who's keeping a blog of his adventures with her since buying her in 2014. He writes, “Capella was built in 1937, costing her first owner £475. It is believed that she was originally named If but first appears in Lloyd's as Capella the following year. She was kept by her first owner until 1960 and was berthed in Belfast. Since 1960 Capella has changed ownership several times and has been kept variously on the Solent, at Fleetwod and in Falmouth. She has purportedly done a circumnavigation of Britain. Much of the original interior has alas been removed or altered but she retains something the atmosphere of a 1930s cruising yacht”.
