Blue Saluki : Fully Restored in 2005
Blue Saluki, built to Buchanan's Prior 37 design, was extensively raced in her early life, taking part in at least three Fastnet races, a Round Britain, and winning the Dinard once. The late 1970s and 1980s saw her used as a family cruiser, mostly along the Channel ports between France and England, and to Southern Ireland. By 2002, when she was put up for sale, she was in an exhausted state. That's when Charles & Alyson Hurst bought her, and commenced a major two and a half year restoration that became the subject of an article in Classic Boat in 2005. They now (September 2017) keep her each winter at Tim Gilmore's shed in Birdham and still occasionally race her; she came 13th in the 2015 Classic Channel Regatta, for example.
