The Relaunched Askadil in July 2014
After 12 years out of commission, Askadil was relaunched just in time to attend the July 2014 gathering of Harrison Butler boats on the Newtown River in the Solent. She's still owned by the knowledgable and skilled Richardsons. In 1979 they took her across the Atlantic to the West Indies and then sailed along the East Coast of the USA to Canada. During this trip they had to pause while their daughter was born ! They then sailed her back to the UK in 1983.
Most recently, Askadil was one of eight Harrison Butler designed boats to gather in the Beaulieu River for the October 2015 Laying Up Supper .
